Twin brother of Dr. John Calvin Nesbit. Father of:
Adella Margaret(1876 to 10-3-1880, born in PA. died in Sanilac County,Austin, MI), Goodman Coulter(3-15-1879 to 10-5-1880, born and died in Sanilac County, Austin, MI), Nell Carrie, Joseph McKown, David Clark, Mary Julia Rodgers (married Paul R. Rogers 8-30-1910), Walter Harrison, Ida Bell, Eulalla Retta. Graduate of Muskingum College, 1874 with twin brother John Calvin.
Son of Ebenezer and Margaret (Brown) Nesbit, he was born October 27, 1849, in Oakdale, Pa. His preparatory studies were pursued in the Washington Academy, Pa., and he graduated from Muskingum College, Ohio, in 1874. He took the first year of his theological course in the Western Theological Seminary, 1874-75. Entering the Seminary at Princeton in the latter year as a middler, he remained one year. He then returned to the Western Theological Seminary, completing his course, and graduating in 1877. He was licensed in April 1876 by the Presbytery of Pittsburgh and ordained, September 10,1879, by the Presbytery of Saginaw. He labored as an evangelist in Cumber, Mich., from 1879 to 1881. He resided in Bridgeville, Pa., from 1881 to 1887. At this time he was obliged to demit the ministry on account of a throat trouble. He resided in Cumber, Mich., from 1887 to 1898, and in Petersburg, Va., from 1898 until his death there, January 24, 1929, of pneumonia, in the 80th year of his age. He was buried in the Blandford Cemetery, Petersburg, Va.
