Ruie Shope, 96, Frankfort, died Wednesday, April 9. 2003, at a Frankfort care home.A service was at 10:30 a.m. Monday, April 14, at the Padden Funeral Chapel, Frankfort, with the Rev. Larry Bowyer officiating.
Eunice Samuelson was organist and Lorene Shearer was soloist.Music included "On Eagle's Wings" and "Amazing Grace."
Burial was in Mount Hope Cemetery.She was born Sept. 18, 1906, in Frankfort, the daughter of Joseph and Maude Hazen Loucks.
She graduated from Frankfort High School.She was a member of the Frankfort United Methodist Church.On June 7, 1926, she married Otis Shope. He died Jan. 12, 1984.
She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Katherine Hesse Taylor, and a granddaughter, Sharon Kay Shope, in 1963.
Survivors include three sons, David J. Shope, Trentwood, Ohio, Otis Shope Jr., Frankfort, and Robert Shope, Bismarck, N.D.; 11 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
