Maude Lillian Hazen, daughter of Sterling
Wallace and Sarah Elizabeth Hazen was born
near Frankfort, Kansas, September 6, 1869
and passed away at her home southeast of
Frankfort, Kansas, May 19, 1960 at the age of
90 years, 8 months and 13 days.
She was united in marriage to Joseph Everett
Loucks on October 25, 1893, who preceded
her in death October 4, 1940.
To this union four children were born, Willie
Sterling Loucks of the home; Ruie Elizabeth
Shope, Durago,Colorado, Bush Joseph Loucks
preceded her in death December 11, 1944,
and Omar Royal Loucks who died in infancy.
She is survived by one brother Sterling Hazen
Frankfort, Kansas and one sister, Mrs. Bessie
Mackey, Phoenix, Arizona. Two brothers and
one sister preceded her in death.
Also surviving are twelve grandchildren and
twelve great-grandchildren, a number of
nieces and nephews.
Her entire life was spent in this community
except when in school for the deaf mutes at
Olathe, Kansas. She was a member of Kansas
Mission Church for the deaf.
Funeral services were held in Frankfort
Methodist Church Tuesday, May 24, 1960
at 2:00 p.m. with Reverend Van Patten
and Reverend Ferber officiating.
Interment was in the Frankfort Cemetery,
Frankfort, Kansas.
Pallbearers were grandsons, Joe Loucks, Paul
Loucks, Dean Loucks, Otis Shope Jr, John
Musselman and Francis Hesse.
