She was born at Coxackie, N. Y., Jan. 6, 1882, daughter of Renssealear and Anna Thatcher Fonda and attended the schools there. She was married to William J. Gleed of this village in 1904 at St. Johnsville. They resided four years at St. Johnsville and six years at Herkimer and for the past 25 years have lived in this village. She was a member of the Mohawk Episcopal Church, where she taught Sunday School for nine years; was president of the Junior League and superintendent of the Junior Sunday School. Besides her husband, she is survived by a son, Harry, her mother, Anna Thacher Fonda, all of Mohawk; two brothers, Frank and Alfred Fonda of Elmira; two sisters, Mrs. Hattie Springsteen, Mohawk and Mrs. Lillian Porter of Los Angeles, California. Funeral services will be held privately from the home. 17 Orchard St., Wednesday afternoon with burial in Mohawk Cemetery. Friends may call Tuesday afternoon and evening.
