Christian Breneman Obituary
The Sumner County Press (Reel W-448)
Wellington, Kansas Thursday November 20, 1884
Column 2, P. 3 (?)

Died
Monday night, Nov 10th, at 11 o'clock, at his residence in this city, Christian Breneman, father of Dr. and Manuel Breneman.

Mr. B. was born in Mahoning county Ohio June 13th, 1814, where he lived until the year 1869, when he with his family moved to Iowa, where he remained until August last, when he took up his residence in this city.

Mr. B. was 70 years 4 months and 27 days old at this time of his death. He was a consistent member of the German Baptist (Dunkard) church. He leaves a wife and nine children to mourn the loss of a kind father and a beloved husband.

During these three score years and ten he has led a just and upright life being temperate in all his habits and just in all his dealings with his fellow men, and where he was better known in this life his demise will be mourned by a large circle of friends. While friends mourn the death of the body the soul is happy with the redeemed of that better land.

His remains were placed in their final resting place in the Wellington Cemetery Monday afternoon. The bereaved family have the heartfelt sympathy of all acquaintances.
