Mrs. Wm. Boeckler passed away at the home of her son Charles, Cor. Main and Market streets, at 8 50 a. m. Tuesday, aged 77 years. Death was due to a general breaking up of the system due to old age, hastened to some extent by a fracture of the left hip on Dec. 11th, 1913, since which time she was perfectly help less.
Deceased was born at Hegins, Schuylkill county, and was twice married. Her first husband, John R. Deeter, lost his life in 1863 in the war of the Rebellion, leaving three children: Louisa (Mrs. D. H. Troutman), of Philadelphia : Jas. R. of Reading, and Amanda (Mrs. Wm. C. Jentch), of Wiconisco. Her second marriage was to Wm. Boeckler and occurred at Shamokin on the 25lh day of March 1866. Eight children resulted from this union, five of which survive: Henry, Charles, Oscar and Clara (Mrs. Clinton Koppenhaver), of this place; and George of Reading. The deceased children are William, Emma and Albert. There are 17 grandchildren. The husband also services. The funeral was. held from the home of her son Charles at 1 a. m. yesterday. Rev. Slinghoff of the Reformed church, officiating. Burial took place in the P. O. S. of A. cemetery.
