Mrs. R. E. (Lillian Leona) Zurbrugg, 77, former Spokane resident, died Saturday in Seattle, almost exactly two months following the death of her husband. She had been ill three months with lung cancer.
Mr. Zurbrugg, retired Great Northern Railway conductor, later operated an insurance office in Hillyard and his wife assisted in the business. He died Sept. 11 in Seattle, following a stroke. He was 79.
The Zurbruggs had lived on the Coast nearly 15 years. She was a member of Ivanhoe Eastern Star Chapter and of Daughters of the Nile.
She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Eugene (Virginia) Conner, Seattle; a son Harold, Hayford, Calif.; seven grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and a sister, Mrs. Ora Phillips, Fresno, Calif. Surviving here is a brother-in-law, E. C. Zurbrugg.
Funeral services will be at 3 pm Wednesday in the Acacia Funeral Home, Seattle. Burial will be in Seattle.
The family suggests memorial contributions may be made to the University of Washington Hospital for cancer research.
