Jim Abbott, 71, of West Union, died Wednesday, Dec. 29, 2010, at the Hospice of Hope Ohio Valley Inpatient Center, Adams County Regional Medical Center. Mr. Abbott was born Sept. 19, 1939, the son of the late Elmer and Agnes (Vogler) Abbott in Adams County.
Mr. Abbott was a member of the Satterfield Chapel Christian Union Church.
Survivors include his wife Judy Abbott of West Union; a daughter, Vickie (Chuck) Hayslip of West Union; four brothers, Clarence (Marcella) Abbott of West Union, Junior (Betty) Abbott of West Union, Larry (Brenda) Abbott of Hammersville and Randy Abbott of West Union; two grandchildren, Tiffany Hayslip and Brian Hayslip.
Besides his parents, Mr. Abbott was preceded in death by a brother, Lester Abbott.
