Henry E. Schneider, 71, former Town of Meeme resident, died Friday afternoon,
Feb. 24, at Morningside Nursing Home, Sheboygan, where he had been a resident
the last six months.
Brief family rites will be 9:45 a.m. Monday at Meiselwitz Funeral Home followed
by funeral services at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, School Hill.
Rev. Reginald Schrimpf will officiate and burial will be in the church cemetery.
Mr. Schneider was born March 12, 1912, in the Town of Meeme, son of the late
Anton and Mary Schnell Schneider. He attended St. Fidelis Catholic School in the
Town of Meeme. He married Rose Wendel on Aug. 27, 1933, at Holy Rosary Catholic
Church, New Holstein. After marriage the couple operated a farm in the Town of
Meeme until retirement in 1972. Mr. Schneider was employed by the Town of Meeme
for 16 years. He was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, School Hill, and
a member of the Men's Club of the church. He was a member of the Seagull's Club
of Manitowoc and a Deputy Sheriff of Manitowoc County for 35 years.
Survivors include his wife, Rose; two sons, Richard Schneider of New Holstein and
Allen Schneider of School Hill; four daughters, Mary Jane Schneider of Newton
Dianne Faust of Hilbert, Elaine Schneider of Newton and Rita Schneider of Madison;
four sisters, Mrs. Veronica Stahl of Sheboygan, Evelyn Florian of Sheboygan, Mrs.
Genevieve Wagner of Manitowoc and Mrs. Steve Riesterer of St. Nazianz and 13
grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three brothers.
Friends may call at Meiselwitz Funeral Home, Kiel, after 4 p.m. Sunday where a
wake service will be at 8 p.m.
