PETER MALLMANN

Peter Mallmann, 74, a resident of Sheboygan for the past 26 years, died early
today at St. Nicholas hospital.
Born at School Hill, Wis., on Oct. 3, 1875, the son of the late Peter and Mary
Mallmann, his marriage to Margaret Scharenbrock was solemnized there on Oct. 27,
1908.
For more than 13 years he was a rural mail carrier in Dodge, Neb., and the
couple made their home in New Holstein before coming to Sheboygan in 1923.
Mr. Mallmann was employed by the J.W. Jung company and prior to his retirement
had been an employe of the H.C. Prange company for 18 years. His wife preceded
him in death in 1930.
A faithful member of Holy Name church, he was also affiliated with its Holy Name
society and St. Leo court, Catholic Order of Foresters.
Survivors are a son, Alex, Willard, Wis.; a daughter, Mrs. Arthur (Martha) Fritz,
Sheboygan; three grandsons; a sister, Mrs. Catherine Parr, Sheboygan; four half-
brothers, William, Milwaukee, Joseph, School Hill, Jacob, Chilton, and Frank,
Sheboygan, and six half-sisters, Mrs. Hubert (Gertrude Kretsch), Manitowoc, and
Mrs. Leopold (Elizabeth) Altenbach, Mrs. John P. (Frances) Hess, Mrs. John (Anna)
Fahres, Mrs. Clara Wilbert and Mrs. Lena Tilger, all of Sheboygan.
Funeral services will be held at 8:30 a.m. Monday at Gerend’s Funeral home and at
9 a.m. at Holy Name church. The Rev. Edward Ziegler, curate, will celebrate the
requiem high mass. Burial will be made at School Hill.
The body will lie in state at the funeral home from Saturday evening until the
time of the services.
Members of St. Leo’s court will hold a vigil at the funeral home at 7 p.m. Saturday.
At 7:30 p.m. Sunday, members of the Holy Name society of Holy Name parish will
recite the rosary at the funeral home.
