Former Dodge Resident Dies At Sheboygan, Wis.;
Burial at St. Henry's
Funeral services for Mrs. Katherine Parr, 76, widow of the late Bernard Parr, were held Friday morning in St. Joseph's Catholic Church at Dodge. The deceased, a former resident of Dodge, died at her home in Sheboygan, Wis. on November 9, after an illness of one week. She had, however, been in poor health for many years.
Services were conducted Friday morning by Father Oborny at 9:10 in Humlicek's Funeral Home and at 9:30 in St. Joseph's Church. Also in the sanctuary for the Requiem Mass was Father Norman Parr.
Burial was in the family lot in St. Henry's cemetery northwest of Howell's. Father Vogel, pastor of St. Henry's Catholic Church, officiated at graveside rites. Pall bearers were Ronald, Merle, David and Gus Parr, Robert Busch and Lambert Parr.
Katherine Parr, nee Mahlman, was born in Sheboygan, Wis., on Feb. 14, 1878. She came to Dodge in about 1907 where her brother, Pete Mahlman, had already settled. On Sept. 30, 1908, she was married to Bernard Parr in St. Wencelaus Church at Dodge and they resided in the vicinity of Dodge for many years. Mr. Parr died in 1938.
After her husband's death she returned to Sheboygan where she had made her home until her death.
Surviving her are six children: Raymond, Omaha; Albert, Scribner; Leonard, Sheboygan; James, Scribner; and two daughters, Mrs. Catherine Monson, Milwaukee and (Alicia)Mrs. Harold Filberg, Sheboygan, Wis.; six step children, Frank, Stanton; Henry, Dodge; John, Omaha; Joe and Ben, Rock Island, Ill. and (Mayme) Mrs. Rudolph Busch of Howells. There are 35 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.
She is also survived by four brothers, Jacob, Frank, Joseph and William Mahlman all of Wisconsin and five sisters, Mrs. John Fehrer, Mrs. John Hess, Mrs. Clara Wubbert and Mrs. Lena Tieger, also all residing in Wisconsin.
Three sisters and one brother, Pete Mahlman, who at one time lived in Dodge, preceded her in death.
Among the out of town relatives here to attend the funeral were Messrs. and Mmes. Busch and Joe and Helen Busch of Stanton; Miles Moyer, Albert Parr and sons, Jim Parr and family, all of Scribner; Mrs. Robert Parr, Fremont; Mrs. Chris Perina and Miss Lillian Perina, Omaha; Mrs Harold Boscow, Fremont.
