Angeline Koenig, age 93, a resident of the Calumet Homestead, for the past 20
months, formerly of School Hill, died at the Homestead, August 7, 1992.
Funeral mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, at Holy Trinity Catholic
Church, School Hill. The Rev. Reginald Schrimpf, Pastor, and Deacon James
Steffen will be officiating, with burial in the church cemetery.
She is the former Angeline Binversie, born February 12, 1899, in the Town of
Meeme, daughter of the late William and Regina Schuler Binversie. She attended
Holy Trinity Catholic School in School Hill. On June 19, 1917, she married John
Koenig at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in School Hill. The couple farmed in the
Town of Meeme until 1960 when they moved to School Hill. Her husband preceded
her in death on December 7, 1961. She was a member of the Holy Trinity Parish,
Chrisitan Women's Society, and a former member of the St. Nazianz Senior Center.
For many years she was an organist at Holy Trinity Parish and also a housekeeper
for Father Messmer.
Survivors include three sons, Roman and Theresa of Osman, Sylvester and Rose of
Laurence Harbor, N.J., Thomas and Marie of School Hill; eight daughters, Ruth and
Francis Scharenbroch of School Hill, Laura and Ashley Wagner of rural Kiel,
Virginia and Jerome Neumeyer of rural Reedsville, Anna Mae and Donald Stoelb of
Sheboygan Falls, Margaret and Donald Bonde of rural Newton, Elizabeth and Roman
Bonde of School Hill, La Verne and Roman Bonde of School Hill, La Verne and Roman
Karls of Green Bay, Arlene Schad of rural Kiel; two sisters, Helen Kirsch and
Katherine Steffen both of School Hill; 92 grandchildren; 183 great-grandchildren,
five great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sons, Victor and
Robert; one grandson Kenneth; five brothers and seven sisters.
Friends may call at the Meiselwitz Funeral Home in Kiel from 4-9 p.m. on Sunday,
and at the church vestibule on Monday, from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the mass.
A wake service will be held at 7:30 Sunday evening at the funeral home. A memorial
has been established for Holy Trinity Catholic Church.
