Thursday at his home in School Hill, Rt. 1, Kiel. He had a heart attack.
Funeral services will be at 9:15 a.m. Saturday at Meiselwitz Funeral Home, Kiel,
and at 10 a.m. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, School Hill. The Rev. Wigbert
Leinweber will officiate and burial will be in the church cemetery.
Mr. Koenig was born June 8, 1890, in the Town of Meeme, son of the late Peter
and Margaret Mueller Koenig. He was educated at St. Gregory Catholic School, St.
Nazianz, and June 19, 1917, married Angeline Binversie of the Town of Meeme at
Holy Trinity Church. The couple farmed in the township until a year ago, retiring
and moving to School Hill. He was a member of Hoy Name Society of the church.
Surviving are his wife, five sons, Victor and Sylvester of Rt. 1, Cleveland,
Roman of Rt. 1, Newton, Robert of Rt. 1, Kiel, and Thomas at home; eight daughters,
Mrs. Francis Scharenbroch, Mrs. Ashley Wagner and Mrs. Roman Bonde of Rt. 1, Kiel,
Mrs. Jerome Neumeyer of Rt. 2, Reedsville, Mrs. Donald Stoelb of Sheboygan, Mrs.
Donald Bonde of Rt. 1, Newton, Mrs. Roman Karls of Green Bay and Miss Arlene
Koenig at home; a sister, Mrs. Nick Binversie of Rt. 2, Kiel, and 69 grandchildren.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Friday where the Rosary will
be recited at 8:45 p.m.
