Dewitt Griffis passed away at his
home in Bigelow, Kansas about
2:00 a.m. Thursday morning on
November 27, 1902 at the age of
60 years.
Mr. Griffis death was caused by
heart diease, from which he had
suffered more or less all of his life.
He had been in his usual health
lately and after loading a car with
corn at Bigelow on Wednesday
evening, he went home to supper,
after which he retired to bed. He
hadn't complained of feeling sick
when he retired, but at 2:00 his
wife found him dead.
He leaves his wife and three son's
and three daughter's to mourn his
passing. He was an old settler and
a highly respected citizen.
Funeral services where held at 10:00
a.m. with burial in the Antioch
Cemetery, southwest of Frankfort,
Kansas.
