Nina E. Hire, 93, passed away peacefully with family by her side on Tuesday October 23rd 2012. She was born in Holland, Kentucky on October 16th 1919. She was one of six daughters and 2 sons of William and Nora Farley.
She moved to Beech Grove, Indiana in 1956 and has been a resident ever since. Nina was a homemaker after working for John Sexton and for Linder Ice Cream.
Nina was proceeded in death by her husband Guy H. Hire whom she was married to for 41 years, her five sisters, two brothers and her only son Gerald W. Hire.
Nina was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She is survived by her two daughters Sandra Couch (Steve) and Kathy Swonder. She is also survived by her 8 granddaughters and 17 great-grandchildren of Indianapolis.
She was very devoted to caring for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren of all who adored her so much, and she loved to garden and was a fabulous cook.
Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00pm on Friday, October 26, 2012 at G.H. Herrmann Madison Avenue Funeral Home, 5141 Madison Avenue, Indianapolis, IN. A funeral service will be at 11:30am on Saturday, October 27, at the funeral home.
She will be laid to rest at Washington Park East Cemetery.
