A former Quail man; Granville E. Atkinson; 76, of Dolores, Colo, died at a hospital in that town on Thursday, Dec. 31. Mr. Atkinson was born at Quail Feb. 7, 1911 the son of William I. and Elsie Powell Atkinson.
He was a retired farmer and had lived at Dolores since 1938. He is survived by his son, Moss Atkinson of Dolores; daughters, Shirley Dennison of Dolores and Peggy Kirkpatrick of Cortez; 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Other survivors are brothers, W.I. Atkinson of Mancos and Howard Atkinson of Cortez; his sisters, Sally Atkinson of Mancos; Vena Kelso of Cortez and Glennis Daves of Dove Creek, CO. Four cousins living in Wellington are Mrs. Jackie Bell, Mrs. Sue Campbell, Mrs. Cleo Messer and Ansel Atkinson.
