Mrs. Bertha E. Sirginson, 88, died Thursday, May 26, 2005, in Botberga, Sweden. A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 11, 2005, at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, Greenville, N.C.
Born in Chicago in 1917, Mrs. Sirginson lived in various parts of the free world, more recently in Litchfield Park, Ariz. She had served as a research librarian, an administrative secretary, bank person and also worked with the Quaker Oats Company at the Chicago World's Fair.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Gustav and Anna Olson; and two brothers, Clarence and Dean Olson. She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Capt. Arthur W. Sirginson USN (Ret.), of Phoenix; two sons, William D. Sirginson of Greenville and Richard W. Sirginson of Biloxi, Miss.; two daughters, Dorothy A. Sirginson of Irvine, Calif., and Elizabeth J. Ahern of Phoenix; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church on Saturday, June 11, 2005, from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, Memorial Fund, 1801 S. Elm St., Greenville, NC 27834. Arrangements are by Karl-Anders Anderson, Vara, Sweden.
