Lura Mae "Mammy" Goff McCubbin, 101, of Greensburg, died Wednesday, November 29, 2000 in Green County. Daughter of the late Jake Goff & Lily DeEtta Cobb Goff, she was born on February 24, 1899 in Green Co., KY, & was a member of Aetna Grove Baptist Church. She was married to Claud Elliott McCubbin on December 4, 1921, who preceded her in death on March 10, 1981. Survivors include 1 daughter and 2 sons, Lily Ellen Bean of Louisville, James Everett McCubbin of Summersville, and Gene A. McCubbin of Taylorsville; 6 grandchildren, Carol Rose of Greensburg, Patty Payne of Tennessee, Paula Blakeman of Virginia, Sherry McClain of Mt. Washington, Kimberly Phelps of Mt. Washington, and Donnie McCubbin of Mississippi; and 10 great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were Jared Rose, Jeff Phelps, Jackie Rose, Earl McClain, Eddie Blakeman, Donnie McCubbin and Larry Payne. Honorary pallbearers were Patty Payne, Kathy McCubbin, Paula Blakeman, Carol Ann Rose, Sherry McClain, Jamie Wade and Kim Phelps.

The funeral services for Lura Mae "Mammy" Goff McCubbin were conducted Saturday, December 2 at the Cowherd & Parrott Funeral Home with burial in the Aetna Grove Cemetery. Rev. Ferrill Gardner and Rev. Shannon McCubbin officiated.
