Dorothy Agness, age 91, went to be with the Lord Monday, October 22, 2012, at Wesleyan Health Care, Marion, Indiana.

Dorothy was born on August 26, 1921, in Grant County, Indiana, the daughter of the late Floyd and Grace "Gem" (Bailey) Young. She married Sylvester Agness, Jr. on June 30, 1945, and he preceded her in death on January 4, 1998.

Dorothy was a homemaker. She was a member of Christland United Methodist where she taught Sunday School classes and was a volunteer in the nursery and for many church activities. She loved to read, especially her Bible and liked to do Word Search Puzzles.

Survivors include: two daughters, Vickie (Larry) Atkins of Marion, Indiana, and Jodeene Forbes of Marion, Indiana; brother, Dale (Erma Deanne') Young of Wimberly, Texas; 4 grandchildren, Scott (Leah) Atkins of Jonesboro, Cathy (Keith Maitlen) Horine of Wisconsin, Stefanie (Brian) Rogers of Gas City, and Jason Forbes of Marion, Indiana; and 7 great-grandchildren, Logan Atkins, Carter Maitlen, Fred (Sarah Doering) Horine, Jessica Horine, Ezra Rogers, Zoe Rogers and Justen Forbes.

Graveside Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, October 25, 2012, at Estates of Serenity Cemetery, Marion, Indiana with Pastor Russ Smith officiating.
