Alvina was the daughter of Frederick Stein and Julia Henrietta Eschmann. On 29 Mar 1899 she married Samuel Frost and they had three children: Leah, Samuel, and an unnamed infant boy who was stillborn. Alvina died of bilateral bronchopneumonia at the age of 89.
