BOWLING GREEN, KY., Feb. 14. - Capt. Thos. L. Burnam died to-day of heart disease. Capt, Burnam was a prominent man in this community, a live business man in the early history of the town, a Confederate soldier, steamboatman, county officer, and was prominent in social circles.

Served during the Civil War as a Private in the Confederate States of America, 1st Kentucky Calvary, Company C, under General Benjamin Hardin Helm. Charged with:
*"Treason; uniting with enemy, seizing and allowing the Confederates to use the court house, prison, and clerk’s office of Warren County."
*"Grand larceny; stealing a cannon and numerous muskets from state arms."
*"Unlawful conspiracy; forming an army to overthrow the government of Kentucky."
