Eugene H. Jamison, 71, of Thompsontown RR1,. died at 11:47 a.m. Tuesday, October 7, 1997 at Locust Grove Retirement Village, HC 67, Mifflin, where he had resided since December 27, 1996.

He was born June 9, 1926 at McAlisterville RR2, the son of the late Edgar Wilson and Elizabeth [Long] Jamison. June 22, 1944, he was married to the former Susie Edna Benner, who preceded him in death June 10, 1996.

Jamison was educated in the Juniata County rural schools. He was inducted into the U.S. Army and served during World War II. He retired from Triangle Pacific Cabinet Corporation, Thompsontown RR1, where be was employed as a night watchman. Prior to his employment there, he was employed at the former Polaron Homes of Middleburg, where he worked as a laborer and by Pennsylvania Department of Transportation, Mifflintown, as a truck driver.

A member of Turkey Valley United Methodist Church, Millerstown RR2 and the Thompsontown Ambulance League and Fire Company, he had enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Surviving are two daughters, Bonnie S. Burdge [and her husband, Larry] of East Waterford RR1 and Connie L. Liddington of Thompsontown RR1; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Mr. Jamison was the last of his immediate family. He was preceded in death by two sons, Larry E. Jamison on May 11, 1997 and Dale R. Jamison on September 11, 1988; one daughter, Gloria J. Goodling on December 26, 1994; one granddaughter, Christine A. Liddington; three brothers, Carl, Lloyd and Earl Jamison; and four sisters, Freda Reynolds, Erma Bookwalter, Mildred Dunn and Laura Ruth Stewart.

The funeral service was conducted Friday, October 10 at Turkey Vailey United Methodist Church, Millerstown RR2, with his pastor, Rev. Salvatore E. Buonocore, officiating. Interment followed in Bethlehem Cemetery, adjoining the church.

Funeral arrangements were made by The George P. Garman Funeral Home, Inc., Liverpool.
