Maria Flores Gonzalez was born to Julian Gonzalez Gonzalez and Longina Flores in Nombre de Dios, Chihuahua, Mexico. Her family moved to El Paso where her father started a successful hattery business. All of Julian's children were well educated. Maria and Fred G Andrews had eleven children. Maria had a son prior to their marriage.
They continued to live in El Paso after their marriage and later moved to San Antonio, Texas in the early 1920's. Their next move was to Houston, Texas where they lived out the rest of their lives.
