Fred was born to Fred Glason Andrews and Maria Flores Gonzalez. He served in the CCC "tree army" at the age of 18 in Cherokee County, where he met Lennie Laura Gardiner. They married on July 3, 1941 in Alto, Cherokee County, Texas.

Fred was an ordained Baptist Minister and served for a short time in Ironton, Texas. He ministered to anyone that he came across telling them of the love of Jesus. At the time of his death his residence was Seale, Texas. He was much loved by all his family and is missed, but we know we will all see him again in heaven.

They had six children: twins, Ronald Jerry Andrews, Donald Gary Andrews, Mary Edna Andrews, Larry Wayne Andrews, John Travis Andrews and Stephen Mark Andrews.
