Violet McGinnis

Violet M. Johnson McGinnis, 82, Topeka, died Tuesday, May 6, 2003, at a Topeka hospice.

Mrs. McGinnis was a homemaker and worked in the Santa Fe offices in Topeka.
She was born Oct. 11, 1920, on a farm east of Osage City, the daughter of Carl August and Beda Axelina Natsen Johnson. Mrs. McGinnis graduated from Osage City High School.
She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Topeka.

She married Bernard G. "Mac" McGinnis on Feb. 3, 1952. He survives.
Other survivors include three sons, David G. McGinnis and Dean C, McGinnis, both of Topeka, and Larry R. McGinnis, Tecumseh; and four grandchildren.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel. Interment will be in Mount Hope Cemetery. She will lie in state after 8 a.m. Friday, with visitation from 7 to 8 p.m. Friday.
