Belia Miranda Diaz, 78, passed away on October 12, 2012, at her home. Mom was born April 7, 1934, in Yuma.
Mom worked at the Spanish Café at Historic Downtown Yuma on First Street, then worked at Kress's Five and Dime Store. She then worked at Rexall Pharmacy and BeeHive store until she retired and lived her life as a homemaker. Mom was a member of Immaculate Conception Church.
She liked to listen to her favorite music, crochet, watch her favorite movies, and enjoyed going for walks.
Belia is survived by her son, Edwin Diaz of Yuma; niece, Becky "Sister" of Hot Springs, CA, Rachel and Patty Miranda of Yuma; nephew, Frank Miranda of Yuma, and Raoul J. (Patty) Miranda of Chula Vista, CA; grand-nieces and nephews, Lourie, Michel, Turdy, Chuey, Saul, Ruben, Ronnie, Monica, Venessa, Raoulito, Samantha Ann, Ramon, Melissa, and Jacob.
Mom was preceded in death by her husband, Ignacio (Nacho) Diaz; son, Eugene (Genie Boy) M. Diaz; parents, Margarita and Juan (Chapareras) Miranda; brothers, John (Juannito), Rodolfo (Nene) Miranda, and Ernesto Miranda; nephews, Ronnie Miranda and Rodolfo (Bo) Jr.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 19, 2012, at Johnson Mortuary from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. with a Rosary at 7:00 P.M. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 20, 2012, at Immaculate Conception Church at 9:00 A.M. Her final resting place will be at Desert Lawn Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be Frank Miranda, Raoul Miranda, Michael Ramos, Raoul Miranda Jr., Ruben Vidal, and Rolando Chavez.
Honorary pallbearers will be Jessie Michel, Athuro Michel, Raymond Chavez, Nick Jose, Bobby Sierra Jr., and Gabriel Lucero.
