March 12, 1936 - Carroll Daily Herald - Mrs. Peter Zuidhof of Britt, a sister of Mrs George P Maze, 1045 North Crawford street, passed away Tuesday evening, according to word received here by her sister.
Services will be held at Britt and the body will then be brought to the Huffman Funeral home here, where a service will be held either Saturday or Sunday. Interment will be in the local cemetery. Mrs Zuidhof is survived by her husband and several brothers and sisters.
March 14, 1936 - Carroll Daily Herald - Funeral services for Mrs. Peter Zuidhof of Britt, sister of Mrs. George P. Maze of Carroll, who passed away Tuesday morning at 10 o'clock after an illness of two years, suffering with diabetes and complications, will be held at 3 o'clock tomorrow afternoon at the Huffman Funeral home. Rev. William R. Yingling of the Presbyterian church will officiate and interment will be in the city cemetery.
Mrs. Zuidhof, a former Carroll county school teacher who resided north of old Carrollton for several years, was born at Winterset, Ia., August 25, 1872. She was the former Jane Schreiber, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. E.C. Schreiber. She came to Carroll county in 1876 with her parents and settled on a farm one and a half miles north of Carrollton. While yet a small child she joined the United Brethern church.
In November 1918, she was united in marriage to Peter Zuidhof at Grinnell. They had been in Britt for the past eight years.
Survivors include her husband and the following sisters and one brothers: Mrs. Maze of Carroll, Mrs. Effie Vaughn of Coon Rapids, Mrs. Ruby Baden of Harlingen, Tex., Mrs. Dollie Baden of Pharr, Tex., Mrs. Mary McCurdy of Forsyth, Mont., Mrs. Maude Hill of Brookings, S.D., and Fred Schreiber of Spirit Lake.
A sister, Mrs. Laura Dankel, who resided in Glidden and a brother, Melvin, preceded her in death.
