Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday at St. Boniface Catholic Church for Norbert DeWenter, 72, 24 Second Ave. N, who died Monday near Big Fish Lake.

The Rev. Mel Taylor will officiate. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.

Friends may call after 4 p.m. today at Wenner Funeral Home. Catholic Order of Foresters will pray at 7:30 tonight at the funeral home in Cold Spring followed by parish prayers at 8.

Norbert Dewenter was born March 14, 1915, in Cold Spring to William and Elizabeth (Fuchs) DeWenter. He married Beatrice McKenzie June 22, 1943, in Holy Angels Catholic Church, St. Cloud, and had been employed as a boiler engineer by Cold Spring Granite Co. 40 years before retiring in1977. He was a member of Catholic Order of Foresters.

Survivors include his wife; sons and daughter, Duane and Bill, St. Cloud; Beverly, Scottsdale, Ariz.; sister and brother, Mrs. Alfred (Marie) Ludvig and Roman, Cold Spring; and six grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sister and brother, Ida Makepeace and Cyril.

Pallbearers will be Mike and Ed DeWenter, Kevin Arnold, John Fuchs, Dennis Ludwig and Mike Jacobs.
