Mrs. Hoop had been ill eighteen months. Her condition had been critical since last Saturday. Death was caused by lung trouble.
Mrs. Hoop was born in Shelby County, September 3, 1883 and had spent her entire life in the city and county.
She was a woman of the highest type, eager and ready to assist those in need. Her friends were practically numbered by her acquaintances, and a friendship made was always maintained. She was a regular attendant of services at the First Presbyterian Church here.
Mrs. Hoop was a daughter of Elbert and Sarah Plunkett. Her father died when she was two years old.
Mrs. Hoop attended the common schools here, and on January 10, 1902, she was married to Mr. Hoop. One son, Donald Paul, was born to them. The child died when seven years old.
Surviving are the husband; three half-sisters, Mrs. Charles Shipman, Mrs. John Snyder, and Mrs. Albert Fuhrman, all of this city; one half-brother, Will Henry, of Shelbyville, and her mother, Mrs. Sarah Henry, of this city.
Private funeral services for the immediate relatives and friends will be held at the home Monday afternoon at two o'clock, Dr. A.F. VonTobel, pastor of the First Presbyterian Church officiating.
Burial will be made in Forest Hill Cemetery, R.T. Stewart in charge.
Friends may call after two o'clock Sunday afternoon, and on Monday until noon.
