Obituary: After an illness of long duration, Mrs. Samantha Watters died at the family home here last Sunday morning, October 12, at 8:30 o'clock. She had been afflicted with heart trouble for several months and has been known for some time that she could not recover and her death was not a surprise. Mrs. Watters was 63 year of age and was the wife of Dr. Z. L. Watters. He died a number of years ago. She was formerly Mrs. Samantha Jeffery and lived at Mount Olive. After her marriage to Dr. Watters she moved to Salem and has been a resident of this place for many years. Five daughters and one son and a number of other relatives survive Mrs. Watters. A large group of friends are grieved to know of her death. Rev. Pyles, the pastor, conducted the funeral services at the Methodist Church Sunday afternoon. The remains were buried in the cemetery at this place that afternoon in the presence of a great number of sorrowing friends.
