GOREVILLE - Jackie Sue Byers, 48, of Goreville, passed away at 6:23 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 18, 2012 at her home surrounded by family.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 21, in Blue Funeral Home in Goreville, with the Rev. Lee Wollard officiating. Interment will be in Busby Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 20, at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois or the family. Envelopes will be available during services or may be sent c/o Blue Funeral Homes, PO Box 411, Marion, IL 62959.
Jackie was born in Elgin to Lowell and Betty (Throgmorton) Martin on Tuesday, Jan. 14, 1964, in Elgin.
She married Rodney Byers in Marion on Saturday, Jan. 11, 1997; he survives of Goreville.
Jacqueline is survived by her husband, Rodney; children, Josh McCabe of Yuma, Ariz., and Sarah and Matt Rogers of Danville; stepdaughter, Hannah Byers of Makanda; beloved Australian Shepherd, Dolly; father, Lowell of Goreville; grandfather, Rueben Throgmorton of Goreville; brothers, Joe Martin of Goreville and Sam Martin of Paducah.
Jackie was preceded in death by her mother, Betty and grandmother, Margie Throgmorton.
She enjoyed riding her bicycle, camping, fishing, flea markets and spoiling her dog. Jackie loved spending time with her family and numerous friends. She will be missed throughout her community.
