Mrs. May Abt is Dead at 81
Mrs. May Abt, 81, a Butte resident since the late 1800s, died Tuesday in a local hospital. Requiem mass will be celebrated at 9:30 Friday in St. Patrick Church, with burial in Holy Cross cemetery.
Mrs. Abt was born May 22, 1887, at Devil's Lake, N. D., and came to Butte as a child. She married William D. Abt here in 1906. He and a son are deceased.
Before retiring from a position with the First Metals Bank in 1962, Mrs. Abt had worked at St. James Community Hospital. She was a member of the Butte Pioneers Club.
Survivors include sons-in-law and daughters, Mr. and Mrs. H. A. Hamilton, Butte, Mr. and Mrs. John Volmer of San Leandro, Calif., Mrs. and Mrs. Frank Morrison of Butte; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
