W. C. Abt Dies
Requiem mass for William C. Abt, 56, who died Thursday night at his home, will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at St. Ann's cathedral. Burial will be in Mount Olivet cemetery.
Abt, a former Montana Power Co. employee, died following a lingering illness. He was born Sept. 30, 1908, in Butte, and attended high school and Montana School of Mineral Science and Technology. He began work for Montana Power company in 1927, working at Holter Dam until 1945, and then at Rainbow Dam and at the Great Falls substation until forced by illness to retire in 1952.
He married Evelyn Hedican, July 8, 1940, in Helena. She survives as do a son, William C. Abt, Jr., Great Falls; a daughter, Mrs. Marcia Ann Howard of Missoula; his mother, May Abt, and sisters, Mrs. Alene Hamilton and Mrs. Lois Morrison, all of Butte; another sister, Mrs. Lillian Volmer of San Leandro, Calif.; and several nieces and nephews.
