Carnell Gipson, 83, of Atkins, went to be with the Lord Thursday, October 18, 2012, at Legacy Heights Nursing Facility in Russellville.

He was born October 12, 1929, in Atkins, the son of William Calvin and Alta Bernice Faucett Gipson. He was a lifelong farmer, loving husband, and member of the Hillcrest Pentecostal Church.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Nina Jane Gipson; parents; and three brothers, Ray, Calvin and Charlie Gipson.

He is survived by his wife, Bobbi Gipson of Cleveland; 3 daughters and sons-in-law, Carlene and Dean Freeman of Atkins, Linda and Gary Hill of Dardanelle, and Wanda and Monty Manning of Russellville; six brothers, Carl Gipson, Bobby Harold Gipson, Jimmy Dale Gipson, Jerry Gipson, Danny Gipson and Larry Gipson; sisters, Judy (Mrs. Bobby) Higgins and Jean Boyce; sister-in-law, Lillie Pritchett; 5 grandchildren, Dena, Tara, Kyle, Blake and Seth; 8 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services are 2:00 PM, Monday, October 22, at Lemley Chapel with Rev. Bob Branch and Rev. Donald Shipley officiating. Burial is in Atkins City Cemetery by Lemley Funeral Service of Atkins. Visitation is from 2:00-4:00 PM Sunday.

Pallbearers are Kyle Finkenbinder, Jamie Gray, Blake Manning, Seth Finkenbinder, Chris Albington and Charles Jackson.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Arkansas Childrens Hospital, P.O. Box 2222, Little Rock, AR, 72203-9984.
