Funeral services for Mrs. C. C. Anderson 85, will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Stanton chapel, the Rev. Harold Roberts officiating. Burial is to be in the Evergreen cemetery at Effingham. Pallbearers: Herbert, Ralph, Robert and William Schurman, Clem Tuggle and Forrest Hughes.

Mrs. Mary Schurman Anderson 85, widow of C. C. Anderson, who for many years operated the former C. C. Anderson Transfer Co. in Atchison, died at 7:30 o'clock this morning at the Atchison hospital. She had been a patient at the hospital since Sunday. Mrs. Anderson had been confined to her home, 404 North Ninth, with an illness since. last August.
A lifelong resident of Atchison county, Mrs. Anderson had lived in this city more than 60 years.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Stanton chapel, the Rev. Harold Roberts officiating. Burial will be in the Evergreen cemetery in Effingham.
A daughter of Martin and Polly Tucker, Mrs. Elizabeth Tucker was born Jan 22, 1870, on the family farm 2 1/2 miles northeast of Effingham. Her parents were early settlers of Kansas, coming to this state from Indiana in 1854.
In 1893 Mary Tucker was married to Percy Schurman. He died in 1896, a son, Aver Schurman, was born to this marriage in 1900. She was married to Clayton C. (Clate) Anderson, the owner of a large transfer business in Atchison. Their son, Kenneth, died in 1922 and their daughter, Mildred in 1924.
Clate Anderson died in 1943.
The home of Mr. and Mrs. Anderson at 723 North Ninth, which they built and lived in for many years, was alway open to their numerous friends.
Mrs. Anderson was an active member of the First Christian church and the Helping Hand club of the church.
She loved people, especially children, and was a wonderful mother, wife and homemaker. Mrs. Anderson was greatly esteemed by all of her neighbors. She was devoted to her church and her home.
Surviving are her son, Aver Schurman, Walla Walla, Wash., who recently visited his mother; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Albert Hammerly, Meriden; three grandchildren and two step grandchildren.
During her illness Mrs. Anderson was cared for by Miss Irma Rice, a friend of many years.
