Deceased Name: Era Bell Carney Jackson

Era Bell Carney Jackson, 90, of Jayess, died Dec. 13, 2007, at Lawrence County Hospital. Services are 1 p.m. today at Powells Grove Pentecostal Church in Jayess. The Rev. Ronnie Turner will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery under the direction of Wilson Funeral Home of Monticello.
Mrs. Jackson was born Dec. 29, 1916, in Lawrence County to Homer and Corene Creel Carney.
She was a retired factory worker with Croft Metals and was a homemaker. She was a member of Powells Grove Pentecostal Church.
Mrs. Jackson was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Alva Earl Jackson; a daughter, Henry Elizabeth Armstrong; three sons, Charles Matthew Armstrong, Burlon C. Armstrong and Jerry Pat Armstrong; two brothers and two sisters.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Randolph Alexander of Jayess; four sisters and a brother-in-law, Ethel Roberts of Brookhaven, Adele Nichoals of Columbia, and Willie Mae Cothern and Billie J. and Henry Reid, all of Jayess; a brother and sister-in-law, Williard "Bill" and Izeita Carney of Pascagoula; two daughters-in-law, Carolyn Armstrong of Foxworth and Sue Armstrong of Monticello; 12 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren, 25 great-great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
