I am unsure about the birthdates on this headstone. If they are correct, Rachel lived to be 113 years old. In the 1870 census in Baker County, Florida I find a Rachel Rhoden that was born abt. 1845 in GA. In the household with her are three children, Malinda Rhoden b. abt 1864, James Rhoden b. abt 1868 and Riley Rhoden b. abt 1869. They live next door to James J. Rhoden b. abt 1818, Marthia Rhoden b. abt 1810, Bryant Rhoden b. abt 1848, and Qurgenia (?) Rhoden b. abt 1851. All persons were shown to be born in Georgia. It is possible that Rachel is the daughter of James and Marthia due to her age relationship with Bryant and Qurgenia in the neighboring household. A fellow researcher states that Rachel was born bet 1840-1845, that she had eight (8) children, yet did not marry their fathers. She did marry a Fleming Beasley in 1892, but is not with him in the 1900 census.
