"History of Early Pioneers interred in Farmers Valley"
"... In the fall of 1880, the state fair was held in Omaha. Sutton had a company of Home Guards and one of the men did not want to go so John Waddle went in his place. The men were guarding around the fair grounds and John was up on the fence. He fell to the ground and suffered a broken neck. He was buried in Farmers Valley cemetery and after many years the Waddle Family moved to Aurora. Both Mr. and Mrs. Waddle passed away in Aurora and were buried in the Aurora cemetery. Later John was moved from Farmers Valley to the family lot in Aurora. David Waddle, the youngest son, is buried there. Agnes Waddle Stuart passed away in California. She was the daughter of James and Mary Waddell. Her body was brought to Aurora and interred there in the Aurora cemetery. Mrs. Waddle and Mrs. Henderson were sisters, and Uncle John Brown, as he was called, was their brother. Uncle John is now resting on the ground he donated for the cemetery. His grave is at the north side of the cemetery, with the big oak tree at the head and the large pine tree near the foot of the grave.
