Jane was born Sept. 22, 1921 at Brantford, North Dakota to Martin and Laura (Peterson) Dyrness. She was raised and attended school in rural Brantford. She graduated from New Rockford H.S. in 1939. Jane met Albin H. Zetter at a Valentine's Day barn dance. On October 23, 1942, she was united in marriage to Albin H. Zetter. Together they farmed North East of Sheyenne. As a farmer's wife, her daily activities always included cooking and taking meals out to the fields. During the summer months, there was always canning to be done and visitors to host. Jane was a good cook and did her share of baking too. In 1979, Albin and Jane moved into Sheyenne. They built a new home there and happily settled into retirement. While living on the farm. they were members of Calvary Lutheran Church in Oberon, ND. However, when they moved to Sheyenne, they became active members at Grace Lutheran Church. Jane was an active member there from 1979 - 2002. Jane and Albin Zetter enthusiastically embraced retirement getting involved with the local Sheyenne Senior Center, playing cards, shooting pool and socializing. Albin died on October 5, 1981. As a widow, Jane continued to live a full life. She was involved in many clubs and activities including the Homemakers Club, a whist club, pinochle club, and various local events. Jane continued to live in Sheyenne until 2002 when she moved to Goldendale, Washington to be near family. The move to Goldendale was a big change so late in life, but Jane enjoyed being closer to family and found new friends and activities in Goldendale. She was actively involved with the Goldendale Senior Center, still played cards regularly, and attended church activities.

Jane is survived by a daughter Maryilyn (Jim) Goodrich of Portland, OR. Son Einar (Laura) Zetter of Goldendale, WA, 5 grandchildren, 2 step-grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, 12 step-great grandchildren, 2 brothers Kenneth Dyrness of Eugene, OR and Roger Dyrness of Bend, OR, 1 sister Ellen Meier of New Rockford, ND and two sisters-in-law Elsie Dennis and Melissa Zetter. She is preceded in death by her husband, her parents, her sister Agnes Boyle, five brothers: Leonard, Edwin, Rudolph, Truman, & Miron, and 2 great-grandsons: Zachary and Ryan Zetter.
