Einar was born to Albin and Jane Zetter in New Rockford, North Dakota, on May 25, 1946. He grew up on a farm in Oberon, North Dakota, with his parents and older sister Marilyn.

After graduating from high school, he headed out west to Portland, Oregon, to work with his uncle, Melvin Zetter, at Maddox Transfer and Storage. It is there that he began driving trucks. He eventually went into business for himself, operating Zetter Trucking for 40 years.

He lived in the Portland area for many years where he raised his four children: Jeff, Todd, Heidi, and Megan.

When his children were grown, he tired of big city life and headed out to the Columbia River Gorge with his wife Laura. They settled in Goldendale. After he retired from trucking, he spent a great deal of time restoring his '56 Chevy.

Einar passed away peacefully in his home on Jan. 20, 2019. He is preceded in death by his parents Albin and Jane Zetter; sister Marilyn Goodrich; and grandsons, Zachary and Ryan Zetter. He is survived by his wife Laura Zetter of Goldendale; children Jeff Zetter of Tualatin, Oregon, Todd Zetter (Jackie) of Yakima, Washington, Heidi Davis (Matthew) of West Linn, Oregon, and Megan Zetter of Portland, Oregon; 10 grandchildren; two step children, Karee Risteen and Joenah (Lexi) Hyer; and nine step grandchildren.

A service will be held on Feb. 22, 2019, at 1 p.m., at the Columbia Hill Chapel in Goldendale. A reception will follow immediately after at the Goldendale Senior Center.
