OBITUARY.
WANSTREET.
James T. Wanstreet was born at Leopold, Doddridge Co., W. Va., Jan. 29, 1880, and died at the Sisters Hospital in St. Joseph, Mo., Jan. 7, 1902, aged 21 years, 11 months and 22 days. His disease was peritonitis which developed into pneumonia, and though he was given the best possible care and medical attendance it was all of no avail, and the final summons came, slowly but surely. During the five weeks of his illness his suffering was intense, but his good christian spirit helped him bear it with patience, enabling him thereby to more surely gain Heaven. "The good die young" was never more true than in this case for Jimmy was loved and esteemed by all who knew him. In the two years spent among us, he had gained an enviable reputation as a straight forward, honest, wide-awake business man, and the keenest regrets were expressed by both young and old at his untimely death. He leaves an aged father and mother, two sisters and seven brothers to mourn his loss. Much sympathy is felt by all, for the sister and brothers who spent much of their time at his bedside trying to lighten his sufferings, but to the poor parents, away off in the old Virginia home, whose hearts were crushed with the sad news, "James is dead," our hearts go out in profoundest sympathy. He died as he lived, a devout Catholic, and as such was laid to rest in St. Benedict's cemetery. The high esteem in which he was held, was made manifest by the large concourse of friends which followed the remains to their last resting place.
