Olga Masch Decker, died at her home on June 2, 2011, after a year's battle with lymphoma. She was born on January 17, 1934 to Arnold and Ruth Beck Masch in Slidell, TX.
Olga received a diploma from Slidell High School, a BA degree from TSCW in Home Economics and a MA degree in Counseling from TWU.
Olga was a very intelligent and versatile person. As a career person, she wore many hats. After graduating from TSCW, she worked as a Home Economist for Lone Star Gas. Then, she entered the education field in which she worked for 36 years. Most of her teaching experience was in Home Economics. She was one of the first to be certified as an educational diagnostician in the state of Texas. She worked in that capacity in various schools in Denton County. She was also a school counselor during part of her career. After retiring from the education field, Olga worked for FEMA for 10 years.
Olga was a world traveler and her humorous stories and pictures will be remembered by many people.
Olga was a member of the Rock Hill Church of Christ in Frisco, TX. Olga married Tom Decker on July 3, 1957.They were married almost 48 years before Tom preceded her in death in 2005.
