Dies at Endicott

George Washington Collins, 79 years old, succumbed Friday at his home at Endicott, a victim of paralysis following an illness of several months.

A son of the late Jack and Nancy Jane Woods Collins, he was a native of this county where he had many friends and relatives. He had been a member of the Methodist Church for the last 14 years. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Amanda Catherine Music Collins, six daughters and four sons: Mrs. Oma Sexton, Mrs. Christie Spears and Mrs. Bessie Woods, all of Endicott; Harrison Collins, of West Virginia; Mrs. Nell Saunders and Grover Collins, Broadbottom, Ky.; Mrs. Dora Collins, Tramble, Va.; Edward Collins, Aflex, Ky.; Mrs. Emmaline Jarvis, Naugatuck, W.Va., and Elbert Collins, West Dante, Virginia. He also leaves 57 grandchildren and 52 great-grandchildren.

Funeral rites were conducted Saturday from the residence, the Revs Isaac Stratton and Henry Crider officiating. Burial was made in a new cemetery on the Jeff Jarvis farm under direction of the Arnold Funeral Home.
