Mars Hill-Roland B. (Barney) Curtis Sr.,died May 30,1992 at a Presque Isle hospital after a brief illness. He was born May 19,1916 in New Limerick, the son of Harry and Pearl (Miller) Curtis. He served with the Civilian Conservation Corps during WWII. He attended the East Ridge Union Church in Mars Hill and worked for the Mars Hill school system as a bus driver and custodian since 1948. On May 7,1987 Mr. Curtis became a honorary memeber of the National Honor Society at Central Aroostook High School in Mars Hill. He is survived by a son
Roland B. Curtis Jr. of Mars Hill, 2 daughters, Mrs. Roger (Linda) Crawford of Mars Hill and Mrs. Charles (Gayle) Lewis of Stockbridge, GA. A brother, Fernald Curtis of Surry, 8 grandchildren, Lori (Crawford) Corey, Julie, Roger Jr., Wendi and Christopher Crawford, Bethany, Cindy and Lance Higgins, five great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Interment at Pierce cemetery.
