Christina Stewart Isenberg was born in Blair County, a daughter of John Wesley and Matilda Shaffer Stewart. She was united in marriage to Joseph Isenberg on February 1, 1877; the Rev Joel Clemm, the United Brethren minister at Canoe Creek, preformed the ceremony at the home of the her parents. Christina and Joseph raised five children: John Stewart, Ella Maude, Mary Matilda, Susan Urilla and William Merrill Isenberg. Christina died in Blair County and was buried in Canoe Creek Cemetery with her husband Joseph.

Her obituary in the Altoona Tribune, December 27, 1932, pg 10 is as follows:

MRS. CHRISTINA ISENBERG

Mrs. Christina Ann Isenberg, widow of Joseph Isenberg, 243 Calder street, Lakemont Terrace, died at her home at 6:10 p.m. Monday. She was born, July 16, 1854, at Canoe Creek, a daughter of John and Matilda Stewart.

Surviving are two sons, John Isenberg, Lakemont, and William Merrill, Juniata; a daughter, Mrs. Mary Hileman, Lakemont Terrace; two brothers, Maxwell Stewart, Frankstown, and J. E. Stewart, this city, and the following sisters: Mrs. Sue Walls, Mrs. Ella Crissman and Ida Mattern, all of Canoe Creek. Ten grandchildren and six great grandchildren also survive. Mrs. Isenberg was a member of the United Brethren church at Canoe Creek.

The funeral will be held at the late home at 2 o'clock tomorrow afternoon. Interment will follow in the United Brethren cemetery, Canoe Creek. The body may be view at the home after 1 p.m. today until the time of the funeral.

Friends are asked to omit flowers.
