Mr. Jerry Brock Beck, 58, of Myrtle Beach, formerly of Charlotte, died Oct. 25, 1994, at Grand Strand Regional Medical Center in Myrtle Beach of cancer. Funeral is 2 p.m. Friday at First United Methodist Church, Myrtle Beach. Burial will be in Southeastern Memorial Gardens, Myrtle Beach. Visitation is 7 to 8:30 tonight at McMillan-Small Funeral Home, Myrtle Beach.
Mr. Beck, a Greensboro native, was owner and president of Beck Ford-Lincoln-Mercury in Myrtle Beach since 1980. He started his automotive career at Courtesy Ford in 1958 and owned several dealerships in Hillsborough, Tampa and San Diego.
He was a delegate in the Carolina Ford Dealer Council of Ford Motor Co. for several years and recently served as chairman of Ford's Carolina Dealers Advertising Group, representing over 200 Ford dealers in the Carolinas. He was a member of Pine Lakes Country Club and Dunes Golf and Beach Club in Myrtle Beach. He was a member of Risen Christ Lutheran Church, Myrtle Beach, and chosen Coastal Academy's Parent of the Year for 1983-84.
Survivors are his wife, Editha, of Myrtle Beach; sons, Jerry Beck Jr., John Beck, both of Myrtle Beach; daughter, Ms. Editha Beck of Myrtle Beach; mother, Mrs. Marie Beck; brothers, John Beck Jr. of Hillsborough, William Beck, David Beck; one granddaughter.
