Roy Carrol Anderson, age 63, of Manhattan, Kansas, died Monday morning, November 7, 2005 at his residence. He was born June 25, 1942, in Cassville, Missouri, the son of Clifford and Veryle (Spain) Anderson. His father died when he was very young and his mother then married Lewis Wisdom.
Roy had been a Manhattan, KS resident since 1959, where he was a sheet metal worker, working for a number of years at Kansas State University. He was a member of the Eagles Lodge and Sheet Metal Workers Local 77.
Roy enjoyed bowling, playing pool, fishing, hunting, tinkering on old cars, and he was a motorcycle enthusiast. He had a very strong passion for life and enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
On July 12, 1960, in Manhattan, he married the former Karen M. Loberg.
He was preceded in death by his parents; stepfather; four brothers; and two sisters.
Survivors include his wife, Karen Anderson, Manhattan, KS; two sons, Robert D. (Christine) Anderson, Wamego, KS; Clifford E. (Julia) Anderson, Manhattan, KS; two brothers, Jim Anderson, Cassville, MO; Bud Thomas, Cassville, MO; and seven grandchildren, Brandy, Kara, Levi, Tanner, Nicole, Robert and Andrea.
Visitation and Funeral service at the Yorgensen-Meloan-Londeen Funeral Home, Manhattan, KS. Burial in the Valley View Memorial Park Cemetery. Donations to the family may be made to help with final expenses or to a memorial for the American Lung Association of Kansas.
