Ellis Rites Friday

Funeral services for Marshall Seymour Ellis, who died Tuesday afternoon in Newman Memorial County Hospital, will be held at 2 p. m. Friday, in the First Presbyterian Church, conducted by the Rev. Addison C. Lawton, pastor of the church. Burial will be in Memorial Lawn Cemetery. The casket will be open at Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home...the time of the funeral but will not be open at the church.

M. Seymour Ellis, the son of M. F. and Bernice Seymour Ellis, was born April 6th, 1905, in Drexel, Mo. He was graduated from the Peabody High School in Fayetteville, Ark., attended Wentworth Military Academy in Lexington, Mo., and the University of Missouri in Columbia, Mo. He was married to May Limbocker, May 4th, 1927, in Burlington, and they moved to Emporia from Manhattan in 1930.

Mr. Ellis was elected Assistant Secretary of the Citizens Building and Loan Company in 1931, and became a director of the same company in 1934. He was elected Assistant Cashier of the Citizens National Bank in 1939, and was elected Assistant Vice President and Assistant Trust Officer in 1951, a Trust Officer in 1953, and was elected Executive Vice President in 1960. He was a member of the First Presbyterian church, and of the Rotary International.

He is survived by a wife and his son, Marshall S. Jr., of the home; one daughter, Mrs. James R. Ainsworth, 417 Lincoln St., and one granddaughter, Linda Kay Ainsworth.

The Citizens National Bank will not be opened for business Friday between the hours of 12 noon and 4 p. m. Regular banking hours will resume at 4 p. m.
