Margaret Hanson Anderson passed away in Des Moines, IA on April 4, 1983 at the age of 82 years, 11 months and 22 days. She was the daughter of Bertel and Katrina Hanson and was born April 26, 1900, in Buena Vista County, Iowa. She was united in marriage to Johannes Anderson on January 29, 1920. To this union two children were born, a son, Virgil and a daughter, Marjorie. They farmed in Buena Vista County before her husband passed away in 1934. After his death she moved to Alta for nine years, prior to moving to Des Moines. While living in Des Moines she was employed by several eating establishments. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Des Moines and a member of the American Legion Auxiliary of Alta. She was a Gold Star mother. Her son, Virgil, a Flight Officer, was killed in action in 1944 while piloting a plane over Belgium.
Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son and five brothers, Charley, Hans, Emmet, Harry and Howard.
