Peter M. Baron, 81, of Buxton Road, Titusville, died at 3:10 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 20, 1997, at Titusville Area Hospital.

Mr. Baron was born Sept. 21, 1915, in Titusville to Joseph and Mary Habetz Baron.

He married the former Violet Goodman on July 3, 1937, at St. Titus Church; she survives.

Mr. Baron had worked Struthers Wells Corp., Forge Division, in the finishing department for 29 years. He later worked at Titusville Crankshaft and Machine Co. for several years until the plant was purchased by National Forge Co. of Irivine, where he worked for 15 years until retiring in 1981.

Mr. Baron was a member of St. Titus church and Cherrytree Volunteer Fire Department.

Surviving are: a son and daughter-in-law, Paul and Rebecca Baron of Titusville, RD 1; two grandchildren, Frank Baron of Jackson Hole, Wyo.; and Mrs. Andrew (Kelly) Quinn of Pittsburgh; a brother, Joseph Baron of Port Charlotte, Fla.; two sisters, Mary Baron of Titusville and Mrs. Edward (Sophia) Pokay of Oil City; and many nieces and nephews.

Mr. Baron was preceded in death by four brothers, John, Andrew, Walter and Michael; and a sister, Ann Chopko.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home and attend a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Titus Church with Father James G. Gutting, pastor, as celebrant.

Burial will be in Jamison Corners Cemetery, Cherrytree Township.
